
The word arthroscopy comes from two Greek words, "arthron" (a joint) and "skopeo" (to view). The exact translation is "to look within the joint."
Today, arthroscopy is used by Dr. Petolillo to correct orthopaedic conditions or trauma to the body with minimal incisions. During your arthroscopic procedure, Dr. Petolillo will make small incisions to insert tiny instruments containing a camera and a light system to magnify and illuminate the area inside the joint.
